This is a complaint I hear very often.  There are concrete reasons why this is so and I will go over some of them and what you can do about it if this is you.

A very obvious reason is not getting enough sleep!  Or, poor quality sleep in which  you wake up a lot.  People today tend to have demanding schedules where they lack proper rest.  If you can’t fall asleep easily, usually it is a calcium-magnesium deficiency.  If you fall asleep but don’t stay asleep, it is a B vitamin deficiency.  The “G” part of the vitamin B. This is the part of the B complex that calms the body.  It is contained in Cataplex G which I have given to many patients to help them sleep through the night.

Another reason for poor sleep is going to bed too late and not enough down time prior to sleep.

It is best to get to bed between 10 p.m. and midnight.  This gives the adrenals time to rest and rebuild.  The adrenals are the glands that handle stress –  any kind of stress – physical, mental or chemical.  They will go into overdrive if you stay up too late and then it may be more difficult to fall asleep and get a good night’s sleep.  It’s best to have some down time and stay away from the computer screen before sleep.

Drinking coffee during the day can also make it difficult to fall asleep even though it may be many hours later.  I suggest you keep it to one cup in the morning.  Coffee exhausts the adrenal glands as well.

Low grade, multiple infections such as viruses or bacteria can cause fatigue.  Many people have these low grade infections in their bodies and the immune system is constantly fighting them and it gets really tired out. This results in you being tired all the time.  Even antibiotics do not get all of the infection.  Although they do aid the body in getting rid of it.  I recommend Berbercap for these which is a natural anti-microbial (it kills all the bugs but is beneficial to the body in many ways).  I also have other remedies to boost the immune system and get the body healthy again.

Dehydration is another reason for fatigue.  Drinking enough water is key to keeping your energy level up.  The body uses water to build blood and flush out toxins.  In Florida, we lose water from sweat.  Even though sometimes you may not notice it, this weather is very dehydrating.

Lack of salt and potassium also can cause fatigue.  These are minerals that are in the cells and help the body to create energy.  If you don’t have enough, you will not make enough energy for the body and subsequently will be tired.

Exhausted adrenal glands or low thyroid can also cause fatigue which can be extreme.

Both of these glands are involved in the energy levels of the body.  If they are not working right, you can experience fatigue and sleeplessness.

If you want to have more energy and handle tiredness.  Give Dr. Waugh a call!
