exerciseWant to live longer? It’s actually easier than you think. One new study found that “compared with individuals in the inactive group, those in the low-volume activity group, who exercised for an average of 92 minutes per week or 15 minutes a day, had a 14% reduced risk of all-cause mortality (death), and had a 3 year longer life expectancy.

That’s right, just 15 minutes a day or an hour and a half a week of leisure-time physical activity is all you need to reduce the risk of death and increase your life span by 3 years, regardless of your age or gender.

Want to reduce your risk of death even more? The same study found that “every additional 15 minutes of daily exercise beyond the minimum amount of 15 minutes a day further reduced all-cause mortality by 4% and all-cancer mortality by 1%.”

Take just 15 minutes a day to walk, dance or play a sport and you can increase your life span and your quality of life.

Also, exercise is good for the spine and keeps the joints lubricated and nourished. Take a walk around the block or go to the mall and walk while you window shop!
